FATHERS-4-JUSTICE CANADA
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Early this morning campaigners from the Lower Mainland Chapter of the civil rights action group Fathers-4-Justice Canada, scaled the Pattullo Bridge and the Alex Fraser Bridge in British Columbia. Authorities have responded to Spiderman on the Pattullo, thereby awakening the Hulk on the Alex Fraser to start his day’s work. F4J Canada believes the action will have a significant impact on traffic in the lower mainland area.
The action is part of the group’s campaign designed to rescue the basic civil and human rights of children to enjoy an equal relationship with both parents post separation and divorce. Paul Martin’s failure to respond to Fathers-4-Justice Canada’s 40 Day Ultimatum to clean up family law has resulted in increased levels of activity by all chapters of the group. The ultimatum expired yesterday, May 6, 2005, officially making the day into F4J Canada’s Black Friday.
The Pattullo and Alex Fraser bridges span the Fraser River entering Vancouver, British Columbia, a region of some 2,000,000 people on Canada’s Pacific coast. As a result of our increased level of activity, this action has targeted 2 of the 3 major spans across the Fraser River carrying traffic into the lower mainland of B.C..
Fathers 4 Justice Canada’s Month of Mayhem began yesterday with coordinated actions in Montreal, Toronto and Yellowknife; In Montreal roadside billboards at Pie IX and the Metropolitan Boulevard were commandeered to deliver our message; in Toronto Superman scaled the Old City Hall courthouse during a court appearance by Wonderwoman and Batman, and in Yellowknife 100 crickets were dumped in the courthouse with an F4J Canada sticker left behind to commemorate the event.
