Press Release
Fathers 4 Justice Canada
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
May 21, 2005
A member of the civil rights action group Fathers 4 Justice Canada climbed the cross in Parc Mont Royal dressed as Spiderman this morning and rolled out an F4J banner. Authorities have responded. The cross, a prominent and well known landmark in Montreal, is visible for miles.
Spiderman is expected to spend the Victoria Day weekend on his perch.
Today’s action is part of the group’s stepped up action campaign arising directly as a result of Paul Martin’s failure to heed F4J Canada’s 40 Day Ultimatum to clean up family law, which expired on May 6, 2005. The Month of Mayhem has seen F4J Canada’s activists climb bridges, cranes and courthouses in coordinated actions across the country. The recently completed Great Canadian Cricket Caper saw thousands of crickets dumped in courthouses, the offices of federal Members of Parliament and in the offices of divorce professionals Canada wide.
Fathers 4 Justice campaigns internationally for the right of all parents to enjoy an equal relationship with their children post separation and divorce. The movement is organized and active in 6 countries.
