Dear Member of Parliament,
As a result of Paul Martin’s failure to respond to our 40-Day Ultimatum to clean up family law, Fathers-4-Justice Canada has stepped up our campaign of non-violent direct action, effective today, May 6, 2005 - our very own Black Friday. The Fathers-4 Justice superheroes are now fully on the ground in Canada, ready, willing and able to conduct a coordinated campaign designed to rescue that most basic of civil and human rights, the right to a relationship with one’s own offspring.
As part of our intensified effort to expose the divorce industry and remove the price from the heads of our children, we’re going to establish which elected representatives in this country support presumptive equal parenting post separation and divorce and which ones don’t, by asking you - directly. We don’t want your party’s line, we can find that anywhere, we’re asking you for yours.
We’ll even make it easy for you to let us know your position by providing you with simple e-mail links, right here in this message – just click and send. There are only 2 answers for you to worry about; 1, yes, I support equal parenting; or 2, no, I don’t support equal parenting – what could be easier?
Because we at Fathers-4-Justice Canada strive for clarity, you should know that anything other than a response to our support address will be treated as a message, telling us that you do not support applying the core values embodied in s. 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in family matters. We won’t allow the subjective responses our questions have always garnered to interfere with our desire to establish exactly where you stand on an important social issue in Canada. In fact, the only way that we’ll consider your answer to be supportive is by receiving your response at our equal parenting database via the address below:
SupportEqualParenting@fathers-4-justice.ca
We have an option for those of you who don’t support equal parenting as a right to be clear about it as well. Never fear, we remember you well, now we simply ask that you remember how much we love clarity at Fathers-4-Justice Canada – almost as much as we love our kids! Why is no longer relevant to the process of changing the course of this country and it’s court systems, so please don’t bother regaling us with the same boring reasons you don’t support equality in family law you’ve always used to evade and avoid this issue. We’ll treat any subjective analysis as a negative answer, but for those of you who wish to make strong views opposed to ours well known, your response can be directed to:
NotSupportEqualParenting@fathers-4-justice.ca
If you can’t be bothered to respond within 7 days Fathers-4-Justice Canada knows just what to do as well. Nothing in response to legitimate concerns presented is another reaction from our M.P.’s we’re used to, however you’ll find our reaction to your apathy to be fresh and new in Canada. We’ll simply add your name to the list of Members of Parliament who do not support bringing truth, justice and equality to family law and go on about our business accordingly, not a problem.
Members of Parliament who publicly go on record supporting our campaign may even find their ridings declared high-level action free, a declaration they’ll find comes with other benefits besides the obvious one. The value of this one simple act may not yet be apparent to many of you, however I suspect that at least some of the members of this august group know that we are Fathers-4-Justice, know who we are and know what we do, and we hope that some of you may be guided by that knowledge in your responses.
I look forward to your collective reaction to our interest in knowing our M.P.’s, and to assembling an interesting database to share with Canadians and the Fathers-4-Justice movement at large via our web site - www.fathers-4-justice.ca - and our international network of equality minded folk.
Welcome to Fathers-4-Justice country!
