2005 Santa March
Daddy Loves You
Introducing Fathers-4-Justice Canada
Fathers 4 Justice Canada is officially registered as a not-for
profit society and follows all terms and conditions as laid out in
the British Columbia Society's Act.
Fathers 4 Justice Canada deeply values the assistance and
cooperation of our fellow brothers and sisters in the fight for
truth, justice, and equality in family law in Canada.
We feel it is paramount that like-minded organizations work
together to ensure a happier and healthier future for our children
and grandchildren through family law reform and ensuring the RIGHT
of a child to a continuous and loving relationship with both their
parents and extended families.
That being said, because of our 'unique' methods for furthering
this cause and due to the overall militant nature behind our
protocols, Fathers 4 Justice Canada is NOT officially affiliated
with any other organizations in Canada, including Families 4
Justice or any other organization that chooses to use a similar
name, logo, or web address.
We hope that this clarifies the position of Fathers 4 Justice
Canada and look forward to cooperating with the hard working men
and women of like-minded organizations for our upcoming 2nd Annual
INTERNATIONAL Santa March for Family Justice to be held December
17th, 2005 in select cities across Canada.
We know that with their unselfish support, sacrifice and
continuing efforts this will once again be an event worthy of
National acclaim.
Sincerely;
Kris Titus
Director
Fathers 4 Justice Canada
Fathers 4 Justice Canada (F4J Ca) is the official Canadian chapter of the new
civil rights movement from the United Kingdom campaigning for a
child's right to be raised by both parents, to have meaningful and
unhindered relationships with both parents in all but the most extreme
of cases, and to know their grandparents and their extended families.
From its origins in the U.K. just 3 years ago Fathers 4 Justice has
exploded onto the world stage as an international political pressure
group, now organized and active in 5 countries; the United Kingdom,
Canada, Australia, Holland and the United States.
Coordinated international Fathers 4 Justice demonstrations have seen
members and other supportive organizations alike descend on dozens of
courthouses and seats of government in Santa costumes for Christmas
demonstrations, while the F4J Valentines Day Heartbreak Hotel action
brought broken red hearts on purple backgrounds out in front of family
courts worldwide yet again. Coordinated international actions are
expected to increase in frequency and visibility as the movement expands.
Using the now-famous F4J banners and superhero characters, Fathers 4 Justice
Canada will be following in our parent organization's footsteps. Our mission
will be to expose the injustice that the family law industry has become in
this country with a series of high profile stunts and actions designed to
raise awareness about an important social issue. We'll be making public the
side of the story that's always been missing in family law reform in Canada,
the fair and balanced part, because by doing so we'll be cleaning up family
law and taking the price off the heads of our children.
Some of F4J Canada's equality minded activists face criminal proceedings
even now in several jurisdictions, for stunts like Batman's famous visit
to the Queen at Buckingham Palace with his F4J banner. Our membership
has joined the process of exposing the divorce industry in criminal
proceedings, where the rules-based environment favours a truthful, open
examination of Canada's family court system and all its failings. Our
activists are aware of the risks inherent in F4J's method of choice and
accept them willingly as the cost of bringing about much needed change.

F4J believes that NON-VIOLENT DIRECT ACTION is the only means available
to bring concepts like truth, justice, and equality into the process of
family law. In F4J Canada we've tried all the usual means of effecting
social change; we've written letters, called our Members of Parliament
and visited their offices, all to no avail. We've been to court, tried
to use the justice system to protect our rights and our children's
rights, and we've found another closed door. With no recourse to the
law and no political voice our options have been effectively reduced to
zero - the only course remaining is civil disobedience
Many years have passed since the Special Joint Committee on Custody and
Access recommended sweeping changes to Canada's Divorce Act. Beginning
with Anne McLellan, a succession of federal Ministers of Justice have
refused to follow the recommendations raised in For the Sake of the
Children, rather they have embarked on a series of selective
consultations that recently resulted in proposed amendments to the
Divorce Act completely at odds with the findings of the Special Joint
Committee. The results arising out of those same restricted focus groups
and narrow consultations, all of which were sponsored by the federal
Department of Justice, were then allowed to guide legislative change.
An open, transparent public consultation - the Special Joint Committee -
was turned into a carefully guided and secretive process that could
produce no other findings than it did, making a mockery of the
parliamentary process in Canada.
We're not waiting for our rights to be upheld anymore or standing by
idle while they're further attacked. In the coming weeks and months F4J
Canada will conduct a coordinated campaign designed to raise awareness
of the need to reform family law and why, in a very public and visible
manner - we'll be coming soon to a high place near you.
