Fathers-4-Justice superheroes, Batman (Rob Robinson) and Robin, the Boy Wonder, Jr. (Chris Wyatt) ascended to the structure of a 130’ construction crane at Kingsway and Knight in Vancouver, BC in the early pre dawn hours of Saturday 03 Sep 05.
This was Stage 1 of a three pronged action by the F4J BC superheroes.
Initially the police and the owner of the site had no problem with the commandeering of the crane.
At around noon the winds picked up and the crane was actually being moved about by the winds.
The ground crew in consultation with the Dynamic Duo decide that it was becoming somewhat dangerous and the protest was called off early with the superheroes descending from the crane at 1:00 PM.
The Vancouver City Police in attendance were for the most part supportive and were relieved when we decided to end the protest for safety reasons.
Several local supporters including one of our comrades from Vancouver Island attended on scene to support the action.
