Jan 06, 2006 Victoria, BC - Victoria BC Action
News- VIDEO
at 7:00 PM Robin QC Senior, The BC Hulk
and the Burnaby Batman boarded a vessel to Victoria BC
with banners and gear poised for action. The weather
in Vancouver has been pouring rain all week and we
were not expecting anything different once we got to
Victoria and sure enough rain is what we received.
Nonetheless at precisely 6:00 am this morning the "BC
Hulk" - Kevin Christiaens, the Victoria Spiderman -
Steven Hodges Whittaker, and Canada's First Batman the
Burnaby Bat - Robert Robinson scaled the mighty
Johnson street bridge in Victoria and then
proceeded,in the pouring rain,to hoist two huge
banners from the structure.
The first one was 18 feet wide by 24 feet long that
was dangerously placed from atop of the cement counter
weights, facing the Victoria side (The Bridge opens up
when ships need to pass under). This banner could bee
seen from all those in Victoria heading towards
Esquimalt and read in large letters "Liberals Deny
Children Their Rights" just in time for the upcoming
Federal Election here in Canada on Jan 23/06.
Our second one in keeping with the election theme was
a 40 foot long by 25 feet high Canadian Flag which our
superheros hung across the rear of the bridge facing
all rush hour traffic coming into Victoria from
Esquimalt. After which are heroes remained aloft to
greet the rush hour traffic this morning.
By 8:30 am there was traffic as far as the eye could
see coming into Victoria BC over the Johnson street
bridge. Police and emergency vehicles were already in
attendance. Camera crews from A channel news,Check
news, the Times Colonist and several other news
agencies were already busy capturing our heroes at
work.
Meanwhile on the ground on the Victoria side of the
bridge our chief and leader, Robin QC senior, in
costume was busy alerting the public below as well as
the Green Lantern. Several interviews were done
throughout the proceedings with both Robin and the
Green Lantern as well as capturing many other
supporters that showed up in costume on the ground as
well. These included - Superman,Super-Girl, the
Flash,Bat-girl, to name a few.
After five and a half hours aloft in the pouring
rain, soaked to the bone and freezing cold our
superheros descended to the ground to end their
protest. Upon reaching the ground the bridge deck was
shut down and a paddy waggon already awaiting our
arrival.
Our superheros aloft were quite shocked when
discovering that Robin QC senior was already in
handcuffs and arrested for obstruction. The Victoria
Spiderman, the Burnaby Bat and the BC Hulk were
accompanied to the Victoria police station with Robin
and the three were charged with mischief and all four
have their first court appearance March 16 in Victoria
BC.
